click

Q: My
characters don't have sound any more, I can't hear what they say. HELP!
A: First of
all, make sure you have the latest version of UK Speaking Clock. There was
a known problem with UK Speaking Clock which didn't talk when used in
certain countries other than USA and UK.
If you have
lost the sound, for whatever reason then try the following. Go to the
folder c:\program files\UK Speaking Clock. In here, double click on
the file called speech.exe and then the file called agent.exe.
Re boot your computer and see if this helps.
If that
doesn't work, then try this. RIGHT click on the clock and select
-=Settings=- from the list that pops up. Now choose the 'Clock Options'
tab from the top of this new window. In here you will see an area called
Whisper Settings. Set both boxes in here to '00' also make sure there
isn`t a check (tick) in the box that says 'Turn speech off completely'.
Finally, go in
to the Language tab at the top of the window and click on the 'US English'
option/flag.

Q: When I
make the character(s) of the clock smaller, they have a glow around them
sometimes, what's wrong?
A: I'm afraid
this is a side effect of shrinking the MsAgent characters. I don't think
they were really designed to be shrunk, but I did it anyway. Don't worry
about it, just size them bigger until it either goes or becomes
acceptable. Some characters shrink better than others.

to use it to it's fullest. This is all in the license agreement that you
agreed to when you first installed the clock.

c:. Now go in to the windows folder, then go in to the Start Menu folder.

Q: On my
computer I have multiple users set up, which gives each user their own
settings in the start menu etc. will UK Speaking clock work with this kind
of set up?
A: Of course,
this is one of UK Speaking Clock strong points, you can have as many users
set up as you like and each user can have different setting completely to
the other users for their copy of the clock. The serial number and unlock
code will of course stay the same throughout all of the users.

Q: On my
computer, I am using Multiple Monitors. Does UK Speaking Clock support
this kind of set up, or is the clock going to be limited to just the
primary monitor?
A: UK Speaking
Clock supports Multiple Monitor completely. UK Speaking Clock was designed
on such a system and makes full use of this feature. Of course Multiple
Monitors is a feature which was introduced with Windows 98(r) so I can't
guarantee it will work with any other kind of Multiple Monitor program.

Q: I
get this message some times, 'Max (or another name) is not
listening' OR 'Speech input is not available in English'
A: RIGHT
click the character (either one) and choose 'Alter Character
Properties'.
Now click
on the Speech Input tab at the top of the new window.
In here, UN
CHECK the box that says 'Characters listen for input'.
The reason you get this message is because you
don't have a Speech Recognition Engine installed. If you want to
download a free Speech Recognition engine then
Click Here to connect to the Microsoft download site. The download
is approx. 6MB in size. UK Speaking Clock does support speech
recognition but it is not essential or required.

using...
